Rarity calculations are similar to those used by many other rarity sites. If you're interested in the theory behind the rarity calculations, this article gives a very good overview.

Each Smoked Fish is ranked by:

• Assigning a score to each attribute based on the number of other Smoked Fish with the same value for the attribute. The exact formula is:
  attribute score = number minted / number with same value
• Attributes with a value of "None" are scored based on the number of other Smoked Fish that also do not have a value for the attribute, because sometimes not having a particular attribute could be rare!
• Attributes that are dependent on the vehicle type are only included for vehicles of that type (for instance, the snowmobile attributes are only considered if the vehicle type is a snowmobile).
• All attribute scores are summed to give a total score for the Smoked Fish.
• Smoked Fish are ranked starting at rank 1 for the highest score (rarest) to lowest score (least rare).

The method used here to calculate a Smoked Fish's rarity based on individual attributes, while good, does have some shortcomings:

• At lower rarity levels, where the bulk of the Smoked Fish sit, Smoked Fish can be very different in rank despite having similar scores.
• As the combination of attributes possessed by a Smoked Fish aren't considered, the algorithm cannot determine the uniqueness or rarity of the Smoked Fish as a whole. If a particular combination of attributes is considered particular rare and valuable, this may not be reflected in the rarity ranking.
• All the Smoked Fish look great and are distinctly different regardless of the rarity ranking, so take this with a pinch of salt.

Smoked Fish 2 rarity ranks use the OpenRarity algorithm.

At Theta Rarity we choose not to use this algorithm as it has what we consider to be several significant shortcomings. However, for the sake of the community, and in order to avoid introducing unnecessary confusion by publishing a separate ranking system, we have used the Open Rarity algorithm for this collection.
